I love this time of year!

Christmas has to be one of my favorite times of year besides 4th of July of course. I love decorating our house and listening to the holiday music. Isn't it fun to discover Christmas decorations that you have forgotten about while they were packed up in the attic?
Last Sunday, we took Luke to pick out our Christmas tree. Luke loved feeling the branches and has enjoyed playing with the ornaments. So cute! We still need to get Luke a stocking!
Tim and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on the 4th. Unfortunately, I had class and Tim and I had to settle for a romantic dinner at Burger King. But, we are officially celebrating next weekend with a trip to Orange Beach. Yeah! It's a much needed break for us! I cannot believe we've been married for 4 years...time flies, especially now that Luke is here!
I'm officially finished with my course work at Auburn. Now, it's on to my field project research which I will begin in January and hopefully finish up in the summer. Pray for me!
On a side note, Tim and I are so sick about Coach Tuberville resigning/being fired as Auburn's head football coach. We truly feel like we've lost a member of the family. He has done so many great things for Auburn (run a clean, winning program and been a mentor to our players). Let's hope we can find a good replacement , but something tells me we let the best guy go.

Slacker

I know, I know...I'm not very good about keeping our blog up to date. It is very hard to find time to do anything these days. Luke, Tim, work and grad school are keeping me very busy. But, the good news is that I only have 3 more weeks of grad classes this semester. Next semester I will complete a field study project which hopefully won't be as demanding. We are doing great, despite Auburn's not so great football season. We have attended most of the home games with the exception of Southern Miss...too hot for Luke and I. Tim and I even traveled to Oxford to watch the Auburn/Ole Miss game! Luke has done great at the games he has attended and I think he already loves tailgating!

We had a wonderful first Halloween with Luke. He was a little monkey and in our humble opinion was the cutest monkey around. The Halloween festivities kicked off the week before Halloween when we made a trip to the pumpkin patch and syrup soppin' festival in Loachapoka. Thursday night (the 30th)we took Luke trick or treating in downtown Auburn. The stores stay open late and give out candy. Luke got some candy, but don't worry he didn't eat any of it! We then went to his godparents house to get a special trick or treat...a stuffed Tiger! Friday morning, Luke had a parade of costumes at First Baptist daycare...so fun seeing all the kids dressed up. We also hoped to make it to the College of Architecture pumpkin carving contest Friday night, but we were all exhausted!

This past weekend Luke got to meet his newest friend, Caleb Brunson! What a precious baby! Sorry, I don't have any pictures.
Luke continues to be a sweet, laid back little boy! We are so blessed and cannot imagine what we did with our time before he was born! I will hopefully get better about posting more frequently, but if not, Happy Thanksgiving!

There's a first time for everything!

Well, here we go. .. I've never kept a blog, but since everyone else seems to be doing it, I thought I'd join in on the fun. I think this is a great way to keep friends and family informed on the happenings of the Johnson clan...especially little Luke. What a great scrapbook for him when he gets older! Luke is now a little more than 7 months old. Tim and I are so blessed to have such a laid-back, sweet baby. We don't know what we did with our lives before he was born!

I also wanted to chronicle the 2008 Auburn football season since we are rabid fans. This will be Luke's first taste of SEC football. I'm afraid he doesnt' have any other choice than to be an Auburn tiger! We are very excited that kickoff is less than 5 days away. We are taking Luke to the game...don't know how long he will last, but we're giving it a try.

Since I am working and taking two courses at Auburn, I don't know how often I will be able to update. Here's a more recent pic of Luke from the 4th...one of my faves!
